I was just vacuuming out the back of our SUV when I felt a twinge in my back. I did not pay much attention to it at the time. I am over five decades into this life, and some things just hurt now and again. However, as the day wore on, that twinge turned into a pain that hurt worse when I bent over. It was pulling and felt like a constant cramp in my lower back. My wife suggested I go see her San Diego chiropractor. I told her that I would take a dip in the hot tub, and that should loosen it up.
It did help a bit, but then I started getting these flashes of burning pain down my left leg that went all the way to my big toe. It kind of burned and shocked. If you have ever held a 9-Volt battery to your tongue, that is how it felt but much worse. It would zap me and then subside and then do it again. Sitting was painful, and walking was becoming an adventure in pain. By the time the weekend was over, I had to call off work on Monday to go see my doctor. He checked me over and ordered an X-ray. Everything looked okay, so he sent me to the same San Diego chiropractor my wife originally suggested. I just had to take the long route of getting to the place.
I had been working, but I was in a lot of pain. I was taking a lot of ibuprofen, and it was not helping much. Plus, the pills were making me sick at my stomach. The chiropractor examined me and did an adjustment that took about five minutes. I immediately felt better. I was not getting those shocks of pain as I moved. I was advised I needed to complete the therapy until the nerve inflammation went away. Now I am back to normal. My wife laughs when I say that.
